Is this treatment safe? At South Coast Aesthetic Clinic, patient safety is our paramount concern. While all injectable procedures carry potential risks, we utilise only premium-grade, bio-compatible products that have a high safety profile. Every treatment is subject to a face-to-face consultation with a qualified prescriber to ensure it is appropriate for your specific health profile.
Is the treatment painful? Most patients find skin booster treatments quite comfortable. We use very fine needles for administration, and a topical numbing cream can be applied beforehand to minimise any sensation. Patients typically describe the feeling as a quick, minor sting.
When will I see results? You may notice an initial "glow" and improved hydration within the first week. However, because the treatment stimulates your body’s natural collagen and elastin production, the most refined results typically emerge approximately 4 to 8 weeks after your second session, as the skin's structure is progressively reinforced.
What is the downtime? Downtime is typically minimal. You may experience small, temporary bumps at the injection sites (particularly with Profhilo), as well as minor redness or bruising, which usually resolve within 24 to 72 hours. Most patients return to their daily activities immediately.
Aftercare Guidelines
Avoid touching the treated area or applying make-up for at least 12 hours.
Refrain from strenuous exercise and extreme heat (saunas/steam rooms) for 48 hours.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment to minimise the risk of bruising.
Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily to protect the skin as it undergoes the remodelling process.
Stay well-hydrated to support the water-binding properties of the hyaluronic acid.
